The castle hill is a magical place where angels come to visit, especially during Advent. They make their home in the Piarist church, where they accompany visitors through the story of Jesus and guard dozens of nativity scenes at Christmas, as well as the programme of Angel Sundays of Advent. This year, it will again be full of concerts, fairy tales, lights, bonfires and gourmet specialties.

The challenge of the Chateau Hill, addressed to all "home" artists, i.e. those people who create mainly for themselves and their loved ones, was heard by the second lady who came to painting at a ripe old age. After Irena Švecová, the windows of the chateau carriage house are now decorated with an exhibition by Jindřiška Seifertová. Read her short story and make sure to stop by when you pass by the castle. You will get inspired and maybe you will start creating too!

Since the beginning of May 2021, a copy of the famous, often praised statue of the Infant Jesus of Prague has had its home in the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. It could be said that after more than 300 years, the commemoration of this precious icon is returning to its eventual home.

Life in nature is slowly awakening. Cultural life in museums and galleries is still slumbering. Every day on the castle hill we think about how best to cope with the current situation. That's why we have turned the former café into an improvised gallery that pleases everyone, whatever their precautions.

The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Litomyšl literally shone in a new light. On Friday 17 and Saturday 18 July, visitors had the opportunity to see the Crepuscula light installation, which opened at sunset.

Like the rest of the world, we have been hit by a coronavirus pandemic. We lost a large part of our income overnight. Events stopped, no one stayed with us and we had to close the Church of the Holy Cross to tourists. Now everything is on track, but even though we are saving where we can, we are still short of money in the budget for the period when we had to close everything.
