Give your school a kick!
What can be imagined under such a name? Definitely only the best! Litomyšl, and Zámecké návrší in particular, has a tradition in education that has lasted for almost 400 years. In 1640, the Piarist order came to the town and made it their mission to teach the broadest classes. Thanks to it, a philosophical institute and a grammar school with one of the best equipped science cabinets in Bohemia were established here. A number of prominent personalities have taught at the local schools, Alois Jirásek taught here.
We in the Chateau Hill organization take it as our mission to maintain this tradition. Teaching is an admirable profession for us, we cheer and respect all teachers. We are very happy to put on an event for them where they get inspiration, get a chance to look at things from a different angle and at the same time feel pampered (as if) in a castle. :)
The first edition of the festival was held in 2017 and we have been growing ever since. Now a three-day event, teachers have the opportunity to attend a series of lectures in a variety of formats, as well as three workshops of their choice (out of about 20 workshops on offer in total). The festival also includes meals, cofee breaks, an evening programme and a buffet. The event is traditionally held at the end of February and is therefore a kind of mid-summer intermezzo. Check the festival website for the latest information .
In the past we have been visited by Susanna Bäckmann, Ondřej Liška, Robert Čapek, Opher Bryer, Rostya Gordon Smith, Petra Dočkalová, Bob Kartous and Ondřej Štefl.
