Kick Up Your School, an education festival organised by the Chateau Hill in Litomyšl, has seen record interest from participants. The event, which was also supported by the Governor of the Pardubice Region Martin Netolický, has the ambition to become an annual opportunity to learn about new educational trends.
Many of the buildings on the Litomyšl castle hill can be admired today thanks to the Piarist Order, which specialised in teaching the broadest classes and spreading education in general. This tradition is continued today by the activities of the Chateau Hill p.o. The nearest upcoming event is the education festival Kick Up Your School with the subtitle School for All - How to do it?, prepared on 20-21 February 2017. The subtitle of the first edition suggests that the talk will be mainly about new trends in education, the demands that are often placed on schools as part of the modernisation of education and ways to respond to these demands. The interest of the professional public has shown that it is more than necessary to talk about these topics and the festival of education, which is unique in the Pardubice Region and surrounding regions, has its own meaning. "We opened the registration to participants just before Christmas, none of us expected that in such a short time we would have to stop the registration due to full capacity," says David Zandler, director of the Castle Hill. Participant capacity, which consists of about 200 places, was filled in less than three weeks, more than a month before the festival. "Even though we planned the event for professionals as well as parents and students, most of the registrants are school principals or their representatives. So we expect the biggest interest in the How to run a school for all and How to have good relationships in school sections." adds Věra Krejčová, the festival's expert guarantor. The other two thematic sections are dedicated to mathematics and literacy. Despite the full capacity, the organisers offer interested participants the possibility of registering as substitutes. Another option is the possibility to attend a public lecture by Scio's director Ondřej Šteffl on 20 February at 5:30 p.m., which is open to the public free of charge and anyone can register for it via the website www.nakopnetesvojiskolu.In addition to lectures and workshops, the festival will also feature a number of interesting exhibitors in the field of new educational trends, teaching aids, methods and online applications, representatives of publishing houses and experts in school websites. The uniqueness and necessity of the event was confirmed by the personal patronage of the Governor of the Pardubice Region, Martin Netolický. The organizers cordially invite media representatives to participate in the festival, free admission can be arranged at helena.hendrych@zamecke-navrsi.cz . The opening of the festival on 20 February at 10:00 will be attended by the Mayor of Litomyšl Mr. Radomil Kašpar and the Governor of the Pardubice Region Mr. Martin Netolický.
