LITOMYŠL / On 14 March, the Chateau Hill in Litomyšl will host the International Film Festival Expedition Camera, the largest travel and outdoor event in the Czech Republic. This unique project brings to cinemas the best films of the season from all over the world as well as new films from domestic production. This year's programme includes 6 films that have been successful at foreign festivals and domestic novelties.
Which film will be your favourite this year?
The film Devoted will transport you for a moment under the surface of the cold Norwegian sea, in the company of singing killer whales. Two young men set out to find out what the word DugOut means in the Amazon jungle. They found the answer to the question and took away a series of calluses, but also irreplaceable experiences. Eyes of God follows a kayaking expedition to Kyrgyzstan. Venture into the rapids with them to gaze into the sacred eyes at the end of the journey. Domestic films will be represented by Back to Heights, about a slackline expedition to Morocco. How does the leading Czech slackliner handle her return to the heights after an injury? The poetic climbing story The Theory of Happiness is a meeting of two generations, a retiring legend will move you, a rising sports star will inspire you. Jade Waters, a film that is not only a sports reportage of an extreme New Zealand race by two courageous women, will provide an extra dose of adrenaline.
The special guest of Expedition Camera this year will be Jana Harušt'áková, a native of Litomyšl, who has travelled through South America with Martin Habčák. From the beginning, this journey was an adventure. Jana and Martin experienced South American culture first-hand in almost every country on the continent. They got to know the local people, customs and had incredible adventures. Let yourself be carried away by the story of the journey from Litomyšl to South America, a dream come true and almost two years of travel. The screening and talk about the most exciting experiences will take place on 14.03.2018 in the vaulted hall of the Castle Brewery in Litomyšl.
