The exposition of the Museum of Czech Bodywork will guide you through the history of the production of car bodies in the first half of the 20th century and the history of one of the most important bodywork companies Carrosserie Sodomka in Vysoké Mýto. The company was one of the leaders in its field, the genius designer Josef Sodomka Jr. was proud of his car bodies at the leading car shows and the popular elegance rides of the time. The exhibition includes carriages and cars manufactured in Vysoké Mýto, such as the legendary Aero 50 Dynamik, Jawa Minor, Tatra 57 B and Škoda VOS for transporting government and party officials from the 1950s. The latter car represents the legacy of the technological know-how of the Vysoký Mýto coachbuilder in the era when its owner was illegally imprisoned. The visitor is introduced to all aspects of Sodomek's company's existence, such as the production of gliders, toy cars and buses, in the form of a modern exhibition.
Another part concerns the coachbuilding industry, as a unique industry combining progressive design, several crafts, automotive technology and total customer friendliness. Visitors can also try to design a period car to their liking on interactive screens.
In addition to the permanent exhibition dedicated to the Sodomka company, other coachbuilders of the former Czechoslovakia are gradually being introduced in the form of long-term exhibitions.
